  Old Hall Residents’ Association

This summary was prepared following a meeting with Old Hall Residents’ Association on 29 February 2008. The group's secretary has confirmed that it is an accurate account of the meeting.

Views of Old Hall Residents’ Association

The group is opposed to the Tesco/Everton proposal for Kirkby Town Centre.

They believe that it is unacceptable because of increased traffic from Tesco and on match days, including parking arrangements, the upheaval such a major development will cause to the town during the construction phase, loss of green space, problems of crowd control and anti-social behaviour and consequent problems of noise, traffic and light pollution.

They specifically asked it to be noted that they would be happy to have a Tesco or other major supermarket in the town but it should be consistent with the existing UDP and, also, that they feel that there should be a referendum or ballot as to whether this proposal goes ahead.
